Karina “Kitten” Harper is a mixed media artist specializing in bronze filigree casting. Through the symbology of objects, she references already familiar shapes and forms and reinvents them to ask new questions about what they mean in modern society.
“I have worked with passion and diligence to include a wide range of stories and cultural themes from popular heroes and villains around the world. It is exciting to finally see this creative storytelling project come to life. According to Ms. Harper, “Stories unite us in a common purpose. I want to tell a story that all of humanity can resonate with, so that we can learn to become peaceful people who value symbiotic relationships with each other and with our environment.”
Chapter 1 of the rpg WEIRD is set in an allegorical post-apocalyptic utopia. Earthlings get a second chance on a new planet after destroying their home world. Thrown into a new culture full of intelligent extraterrestrial life, humanity will have to adapt or face extinction. Will they learn to form symbiotic relationships in this new environment or will players fall into old patterns of xenophobia and exploitation? Each character will have the opportunity to explore the consequences.
For now, The Sigils of Helstrom, will be on display for one night only at The Den at The Howlin Wolf, 907 S. Peters St. New Orleans, LA, Monday, May 2, 5-11 p.m.
